WE'RE HIRING! (Job Vacancies 2025)

Home Manager - 16+ Supported Accommodation (No Ofsted Registration Required)

 Location: Liverpool, Sefton (L29), Merseyside
Salary: £33,000 upwards of £35,000 per annum (includes a £2,000 bonus based on appraisal)
Contract: Permanent
Working Hours: 9-5pm, Monday to Friday

About Us:
Progressive Independence provides supported accommodation for vulnerable young people aged 16-17 and care leavers aged 18+. We are committed to making a real difference in their lives by supporting them in developing their independence skills, preparing them for adulthood.

Responsibilities:
As a Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Service Manager (RSM) to oversee a home for 4 young people, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and deputising in the RSM's absence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the RSM to lead and support staff development, supervise and appraise performance.
  • Assist the RSM in ensuring statutory compliance, monitoring performance, managing shift cover, and participating in the On Call rota.
  • Work alongside the RSM to assess and improve service quality, preparing for inspections.
  • Support the RSM in managing the budget, reporting on financial performance, and ensuring efficient resource use.
  • Assist in recruitment, oversee inductions, and ensure compliance with equal opportunity practices.
  • Partner with the RSM to lead safeguarding efforts, providing team training and handling concerns.
  • Respond to placement requests, manage admissions, and ensure effective transitions.
  • Maintain high-quality communication and collaboration with external organisations.
  • Ensure a safe and appealing environment, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of residents, manage day-to-day operations, and support and supervise staff.

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A valid driving licence
  • NVQ Level 3 or 4 in children’s residential care
  • The right to work in the UK (we do not offer sponsorship)

We are currently looking for compassionate, committed Support Worker in Sefton (L29), Merseyside, with the values to make a real difference to Young People's lives.

We are committed to safeguarding young people and conduct a rigorous safer recruitment process that includes DBS and reference checks.

Support worker responsibilities:

  • Monitoring young person’s ability to manage with every-day living, access education training or employment, tend to own self-care and health care needs, form and maintain appropriate relationships/friendships and develop support networks, whilst providing regular support sessions for the young people in placement.
  • Preparing and carrying out an agreed plan of work with the young person living semi independently in the community.
  • To contribute to weekly and monthly reports and person-centred care planning.
  • To support the young person to attend meetings with other agencies and professionals.
  • To attend admission, planning meetings, and CLA review meetings and to prepare the appropriate reports for these.
  • To carry out daily and weekly health and safety checks with the young person, which must be recorded and report any urgent repairs or damage to property to your supervisor immediately.
  • To administer weekly financial payments to young people and keep accurate records and receipts for each expenditure.

Support Worker must have the following:

  • Driving Licence (required)
  • NVQ 3 or 4 in childrens residential (required)

Candidate must have the right to work in the UK. We do not offer sponsorship
